About the Founder
Diya Zhang has started her lavender research on Erin Creek Farm since 2021. Her passion is to establish a sustainable ecosystem farm. Diya completed a Lavender Curriculum via the Michigan State University in 2021 and has been working with a Lavender Specialist from OMAFR since 2021. Diya joined Ontario Lavender Association in 2021 and is a valued active member.
Erin Creek farm is located in Erin, a charming picturesque rural community located just north west of the Greater Toronto Area. Lush rolling countryside, meandering rivers, small settlement areas and quaint village settings is what people will encounter in the Town of Erin. On Erin Creek Farm, the farmers take an environmental friendly approach to ensure high quality local farm products are delivered to the Ontarian. In the initial pilot phase, five different lavender cultivars were established. That includes Hidcote, Grosso, Phenomenal, Royal Velvet and Melissa. The blooming season starts from late June until early August, which creates a beautiful landscape of purple and white filled with fragrance and peace.
